Typical Day Activities

Routine

I believe children are happier and more comfortable when they have a routine. They know what to expect and get to know their surroundings better.

I have a "general" routine, which is flexible where needed, but sticks to the everyday to day activities such as breakfast, lunch and tea times..

In the morning, children have breakfast for those that want it,  which is followed by the "school-run".

The day then has plenty to do, with visits to local toddler/baby groups, and at home there will be activities planned by myself, or your child if they know what they prefer to do, such as:

  • Arts and crafts

  • Baking / cooking / helping prepare their own food

  • Reading

  • Dressing up area

  • Cars & transport area

  • Dolls & prams

  • Jigsaws and puzzles

  • Games

  • Singing & music making

  • Letter number & colour learning games

  • Garden games (ball games, chalk boards, hula hoops, nature trails)

  • And many many more.

OUTINGS

It is lovely to have the opportunity to take children out of the house for a variety of reasons.

Often this will be toddler groups / play groups / baby groups where children can learn to socialise amongst others.

Trips to the local parks, farm parks, museums, the beach, shops, librarys, picnics and many more places where they can gain knowledge about the world around them.

I WILL ALWAYS ensure children are safe with me by always taking precautions, and risk assessing situations so i am fully prepared for the outing.

HEALTHY EATING

Healthy eating is very important to childrens start in life, so I always offer healthy meals and snacks.

There are many different options when it comes to alternatives to sweet treats, and i will always ensure i am offering all children oportunities to try new things, and let them help (where possible) in food preperation as children often like things more when they have helped make it.
